I never set out to invent a sleep product.
I just wanted to sleep again. After cervical spine surgery, something changed.
Night after night, I would carefully position my pillow, hoping this would finally be the night I woke up feeling rested. Instead, I kept waking up with the same frustration. My head felt like it had sunk backward into the pillow, my neck felt unsupported, and every morning started with stiffness instead of relief.
Like so many people, I did what we're all told to do.
I bought another pillow,Then another. Memory foam, Cervical pillows, Expensive pillows, Adjustable pillows, Luxury pillows.
Every company promised better support. Every company told me their pillow was the answer. None of them solved the problem I was experiencing. That's when I stopped asking,
"Which pillow should I buy?"…and started asking a different question.
"What if the problem isn't the pillow itself?" That simple question changed everything.
Looking at pillows differently
As I watched my own pillow night after night, I noticed something I couldn't stop thinking about.
Most pillows begin the night feeling supportive. But as they compress under the weight of your head, that support changes.
I began calling it Head Drop™—the moment your head settles lower into the pillow than where it started. Instead of designing another pillow, I wondered:
What if I could improve the pillow people already love? That idea became Crown Lift®.
Rather than replacing your pillow, Crown Lift works inside it, allowing you to adjust the support beneath your head while continuing to use the pillow that's already familiar to you.
Then something unexpected happened.
People didn't just tell me they liked the product. They started telling me stories. Stories about finally finding a comfortable setup, Stories about waking up differently, Stories that made me realize there was a much bigger question worth asking.
What actually changes when we change head support?
I didn't want to rely only on opinions, I wanted to understand it objectively.
That question eventually led me to create The Clue-Less House, a companion app designed to help people better understand their sleep over time by combining sleep tracking, symptom journaling, pillow settings, and personal observations into one place.
Because better sleep shouldn't be guesswork.
Sanctuary Sleep was built on curiosity.
I'm not interested in selling products for the sake of selling products. I'm interested in understanding sleep better.
That means asking questions,Listening to customers, Learning from clinicians, Working with researchers, Following the evidence wherever it leads.
Some answers will confirm what I believe, Others may surprise me.
Either way, I'll keep learning.
And as I keep learning, I keep adding to the ecosystem that has become Sanctuary Sleep Co.
