Which pillow insert lift height should I start with?
Start with the 1-inch foam pillow insert and lie flat. If your head feels like it's dropping too low or your upper spine feels compressed, try adding the 2-inch pillow insert. You can also combine them for added lift. The inserts each have their own balanced density to give differing levels of firmness. Everyone's anatomy and comfort level is different — listen to what feels aligned, not stretched. The goal is to maintain a neutral head and neck posture by allowing your head to be cradled and your neck muscles to relax.

Why does my head fall back when I lie down?
Traditional pillows allow the head to sink further than our cervical spine really likes. Most tend to focus on neck support and general head support. We don't knock these pillows — our Crown Lift® pillow inserts work within these pillows to give you targeted crown-of-head support. You get to keep your favorite pillow but add the adjustable pillow inserts inside to enhance your sleep experience. The Crown Lift® pillow inserts will stop your head drop sooner than your traditional pillow will. What if I've had spinal fusion or hardware?
While we don't make any medical claims, our founder has personal spinal fusion experience and built this pillow insert system from that. Traditional pillows with ramps or bolsters can over-extend fused spines. The Crown Lift® adjustable pillow support inserts let your head rest in a neutral cradle, and you control the elevation using soft foam inserts. It's spine-friendly, non-invasive, and adjustable anytime. Can I wash the pillow inserts or cover?
The pillow inserts are not machine washable but can be wiped clean with a damp cloth. We recommend using a removable, breathable cover, which can be hand- or machine-washed to keep everything fresh.
