Crown Lift® Pillow Fix — Fit Guide

The Right Pillow Height, Explained

Every good night's sleep depends on one measurement almost nobody has ever checked: the distance between the back of your neck and the pillow underneath it.

01 — THE GAP

A pillow has one real job

It fills the gap between the natural curve of your neck and the mattress, so your head is carried instead of hanging in space or shoved out of place. That's the whole function — not softness, not fill type, not the number of pillows on the bed.

Too little height and your head tips back past your shoulders. Too much and your chin gets pushed toward your chest. Either way, the muscles along your neck spend the night working to hold your head somewhere the pillow isn't.

02 — WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE

Not enough lift, too much lift, right lift

NOT ENOUGH LIFThead drops backRIGHT LIFTspine stays levelTOO MUCH LIFTchin pushes forward

Shown from the side, at rest: the gold block is the pillow's effective height, the curved line is the neck. Get it wrong in either direction and it shows up as a stiff neck, a dull ache at the base of the skull, or shoulders that hurt no matter how many pillows you stack.

03 — SLEEP POSITION

Back sleepers and side sleepers rarely need the same height

On your back, a moderate height keeps your neck roughly level with the rest of your spine. Roll onto your side and the gap gets bigger — the pillow now has to span the width of your shoulder, not just the curve of your neck — so most people need noticeably more height to stay level. If you move between both positions over the course of a night, which most people do, a single fixed-height pillow is being asked to be two different heights at once.

04 — THE TELLS

Signs you're already compensating

If any of this is already part of your nightly routine, it isn't a habit to break — it's your body working around a height problem the pillow itself never solved.

  • A hand or arm tucked under your neck or head

  • Folding or bunching the pillow to build it up

  • Stacking a second pillow on top of the first

  • Fluffing and re-adjusting more than once a night

05 — THE FIX

Fix the height, keep the pillow

Most fixes for pillow height mean buying a new pillow and hoping it happens to be right. Crown Lift® Pillow Fix works the other way: LiftCore™ support cores slide into the pillow already on your bed, adding back exactly the height it's missing — without changing the fabric, the feel, or the pillow you're used to falling asleep on.

Find your fit

The LiftCore™ Setup Finder is a short online quiz that starts from how you're already sleeping — not a size chart — and points you to a starting height. From there, Crown Lift is built to be adjusted, not replaced.
